Sacred products of the land of Greece, such as olive oil, are produced by the George Ertsos family. The family’s orchards are located in the village of Mantzavinata, close to Lixouri in Kefalonia.
Our olive orchards yield the renowned Greek extra virgin olive oil of a rich golden-green colour, discreet but distinctive fruity aroma, and balanced flavour – an exceptional experience for even the most demanding of palates. Our olive oil is lovingly created without any additives or preservatives from koroneiki variety olives, which are listed among the world’s top varieties for producing the best and most flavourful olive oil.
The family of George Ertsos has been producing olive oil for many years.
We are committed to making the purest olive oil aided by the generosity of the land we so much respect, and of nature. The experience is passed from one generation to the next with deep deference for traditional methods and values. We are driven by the passion for producing quality products to share with our family and friends and not so much for commercial reasons.
Our goal is to concentrate on quality-driven cultivation and production and to showcase the natural output of our land and soil.
We are dedicated to offering the consumer the pure, bottled and certified olive oil we produce.
Thus, our brand label: “Yennima Yis”, ‘offspring of the land’, of the soil.
TOUR AND TASTING
We start the tour usually in the morning by following a rural trail through olive groves, while at the same time having a brief history lesson about the olive tree, olive production and its development through the centuries. By the end of the trail, the visitors will be treated with refreshments and will watch a short, 10-minute video about the production of our own olive oil. After that, our guests will be introduced to our local culture food ‘Riganada’ and will also enjoy an olive oil tasting session, while discussing about olive oil and having their questions answered.
We give each visitor a blue glass (specific to olive oil tasting) with a quantity of our extra virgin olive oil, we initiate them as to how the olive oil tasting is done and what sensations they should be experiencing, and then the visitors will taste the olive oil and share their opinions.
