Description
Nestled in the picturesque district of Ramnista, Giannakohori—just 5 kilometers from Naoussa—Tassionas Winery stands as a testament to generations of passion, perseverance, and deep-rooted love for the vine. The family’s journey with wine began in the late 19th century, when the first vineyards were tentatively planted and small batches of wine crafted for family and friends.
The modern story begins in the 1970s, when grandfather Tomas Tasionas, a fourth-generation viticulturist, purchased and planted the very vineyards that thrive to this day. With years of dedication in the fields, Tomas passed on not only his knowledge but also his vision to his son, Nikolaos. A lifelong viticulturist himself, Nikolaos brought this dream to life in 2020 with the founding of the Tassionas Winery.
Today, the legacy continues with the new generation—Nikolaos’s two daughters—who have taken the reins with fresh ideas and a creative spirit, blending tradition with innovation to shape the winery’s future.
The family vineyards span 50 acres in the very heart of the prestigious PDO Naoussa zone, with plots in both Ramnista and Tsatali, Giannakohori. Cultivated exclusively with the noble Xinomavro variety, these vineyards sit at an altitude of 150–250 meters, where the unique terroir and cool climate contribute to wines of exceptional character, elegance, and aging potential.
Tassionas Winery is more than a place—it’s a living heritage, a celebration of family, and a promise of authentic, handcrafted wines that tell the story of Naoussa, one bottle at a time.
Tour and Tasting
Your visit begins where it all starts—in our family vineyards, nestled in the rolling hills of Giannakohori. Here, we cultivate only the indigenous Xinomavro grape, a variety celebrated for its bold character, vibrant acidity, and deep aromatic complexity. As you stroll among the vines, you’ll discover the full life cycle of the grape and learn about the time-honored cultivation methods we use to care for both our land and our legacy.
From the vineyard, we invite you into our small, family-run winery. This is where the magic happens—where hand-harvested Xinomavro grapes are gently transformed into elegant, expressive wines. Guided by our family winemaker, you’ll gain insight into each step of the winemaking and aging process, and uncover the small secrets and personal touches that give our wines their soul.
The journey continues at our traditional distillery, where we craft our tsipouro using methods passed down through generations. You’ll witness the full distillation process firsthand—from the moment the grapes arrive to the moment the crystal-clear spirit drips from the still. It’s a sensory experience that captures the true spirit and hospitality of our region.
And finally, the highlight of your visit: a tasting of our wines and tsipouro. Relax and savor each sip as we share the stories behind the bottles, offering you a true taste of Naoussa—crafted with passion, tradition, and a touch of family pride.
