Description

Saint Anna Winery, founded in 2016 by Emmanuel Petrakis, combines tradition and innovation to create a unique wine experience. Emmanuel, a graduate of the American Agricultural School in Thessaloniki with a background in agriculture, drew inspiration for the winery’s name from the small, historic church of Agia Anna located on the estate—a site of archaeological significance open for visitors.

Nestled in the lush village of Kato Potamia on the island of Naxos, the winery sits at an altitude of 95 meters, just 7.5 kilometers from Naxos Town. Its picturesque setting offers visitors a perfect opportunity to savor exceptional wines in a serene and green landscape.

The winery produces a wide variety of wines, including white, rosé, red, sweet, and dry selections, crafted from indigenous grape varieties such as Fokiano, Mandilaria, Monemvasia, Savatiano, and other Cycladic grapes. Each bottle reflects the rich viticultural heritage of the region, combined with modern winemaking techniques.

Growing up in a family deeply rooted in farming and winemaking traditions, Emmanuel gained hands-on experience from an early age, helping cultivate grapes and produce wine. His passion and dedication led him to transform his family’s craft into a professional yet small-scale production enterprise.

Now, at just 25 years old, Emmanuel brings both youthful energy and deep expertise to Saint Anna Winery. By combining traditional cultivation practices with advanced production methods, he has elevated the winery to new heights, ensuring that each bottle captures the essence of Naxos and the legacy of his family’s winemaking tradition.

Tour and Tasting

We invite you to explore our farm and facilities, taking a leisurely walk through our olive groves, vineyards, and an enchanting array of aromatic herbs. The journey leads to a breathtaking 9th-century chapel, whose timeless beauty will leave you speechless. Standing before this historical monument, you will feel transported through time, immersing yourself in history and tradition.

Next, we visit a nearly 100-year-old Cycladic building that houses our winery—a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. Here, you’ll gain insight into the art of winemaking, where age-old knowledge meets contemporary techniques. You’ll also see the equipment and machinery that play a vital role in crafting wines of exceptional taste and character.

The highlight of your visit will be a tasting of our five premium wines: white, rosé, red (dry and semi-sweet), and our pride—natural sweet red and white wines made from sun-dried grapes. These are thoughtfully paired with a selection of local delicacies from our organic garden, including regional cheeses, tomatoes, olives, and more, offering you an authentic farm-to-table experience that will delight your senses.

To enhance your experience, we’ll present a behind-the-scenes video showcasing the production process of each wine. A lively conversation will further illuminate the journey from farm to glass, leaving you with cherished memories that will stay with you forever.
