Description

Our journey began in 1973 under the name “Agamemnon Pitenis.” In December 1997, we completed the construction of a state-of-the-art culinary facility spanning 14,000 square meters, with 3,000 square meters of dedicated premises. This expansion was a strategic move to meet the evolving demands of both domestic and international competition.

With the enduring trust of our loyal consumers and our strong family-based entrepreneurial approach, we achieved a significant milestone in 2003. During that year, we successfully produced over 100 different products using modern production methods while adhering to stringent health and safety standards, all inspired by traditional Greek cuisine.

In March 2003, we established a new entity, “Arkafood΄ – A. Pitenis & SIA EE,” in Tripoli to efficiently handle the distribution of our products. This integrated distribution network covered a wide area in the Teris region of the Peloponnese. Beginning in 2004, we gradually shifted our focus towards the development of Violeitourgikon Products. To support this initiative, we founded “HHBT΄ Hellenic Hepirus Bio-Technology R&D – A. Pitenis & SIA OE,” collaborating with distinguished biologists in the industry to intensify research on enhancing the characteristics of our products.

In 2009, we expanded our product distribution into Central Macedonia by establishing a branch in Thessaloniki. This expansion continued in 2010 when we extended our presence to the Attica region. Overall, considering our independent distribution network in the West Macedonia region, we collaborate with more than 80 dealers to serve over 11,000 outlets worldwide.

Starting in 2011, we diversified our portfolio by introducing the ‘Gourmet’ New Food series to the market. This series emphasizes even higher quality and nutritional value, featuring product lines such as Pitenis Premium, Οkeanos EXCLUSIVE, and more. In February, we acquired two patents related to solutions involving Saffron with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

To maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality management, we have obtained various certifications, including “ISO – 22000:2005” Assurance system & Quality management, which encompasses the Risk Analysis System & Critical Control Points “HACCP.” We also adhere to the Food Safety Systems British Retail Consortium “BRC” Global Standards, The Certification Plan for Food Safety Management (FSMS), and Quality Management Systems (QMS) under “FSSC 22000” Global Food Safety System. Additionally, we have achieved “HALAL” certification for the Middle East and have received product certification from the USA Food & Drug Administration “FDA” following local checks. Furthermore, we have obtained permission for export to the countries of the Russian Federation from the Federal Veterinary authority, demonstrating our commitment to quality and safety in our products.

TOUR AND TASTING

We offer visitors a unique opportunity to gain insights into our operations by taking a guided tour of our premises. During this tour, visitors will be provided with specialized clothing, including single-use protective items, in strict accordance with HACCP specifications to ensure safety and hygiene.

The highlight of the visit lies in the first and most significant part, where visitors will have the chance to witness the production of traditional Greek salads, as well as the crafting of popular items like tzatziki, tarama, hummus, and more.

The tour then proceeds to our production facilities dedicated to creating pickled products, seafood dishes, and finally, our dressings and sauces. It’s an opportunity for visitors to see firsthand the meticulous processes and dedication that go into the creation of our diverse range of culinary offerings.

Furthermore, at the conclusion of the tour, visitors will have the delightful experience of indulging in a tasting session featuring several delectable Greek delicacies. This tasting allows visitors to savor the authentic flavors of our products and further appreciate the quality and craftsmanship that defines our brand.
