Description
Patoinos is a biodynamic farm and boutique winery nestled on the sacred island of Patmos, Greece. Rooted in a deep respect for the land and its traditions, Patoinos cultivates a living ecosystem where agriculture and nature thrive in harmony.
Spanning three hectares of organically farmed land, the estate includes 2 hectares of vineyards, where indigenous Greek grape varieties — Assyrtiko (white) and the rare Mavrothiriko (red) — grow under the Aegean sun and sea breeze. A third hectare is home to centuries-old olive trees, alongside a rich mosaic of Mediterranean flora: lemons, figs, mulberries, oaks, cypresses, carobs, and a fragrant array of medicinal herbs.
A Slow Food Garden, dedicated to local biodiversity, flourishes on the farm, echoing the rhythms of traditional island agriculture. Bees and free-range chickens play a vital role in the ecosystem, naturally supporting pollination and soil vitality — a testament to Patoinos’ holistic, regenerative approach.
Every bottle of wine and olive oil is crafted with minimal intervention, respecting both nature’s cycles and the ancient rhythms of Patmos. Patoinos is not just reviving the island’s long-lost viticultural heritage — once famous for its wines — but reimagining it through a lens of sustainability, quality, and cultural renewal.
At Patoinos, wine is more than a product — it’s a living expression of place, spirit, and time.
Tour and Tasting
Guests are warmly welcomed to Patoinos and invited to step into the rhythms of life on our farm. The experience begins with a guided walking tour through our sun-drenched vineyards, ancient olive groves, and the vibrant Slow Food Garden, where the air is rich with the scent of herbs and the sound of nature at work.
As we stroll through the landscape, you’ll learn about our agroecological philosophy, the biodynamic principles we follow, and the regenerative practices that shape every vine, tree, and patch of earth. It’s a chance to connect with the land, the traditions, and the story behind every drop we produce.
After the tour, you’ll be welcomed onto our shaded terrace, overlooking the vineyard and the surrounding countryside. Here, in a relaxed and intimate setting, you’ll enjoy a tasting of our three handcrafted wines — each a pure expression of Patmos terroir and our commitment to natural winemaking.
Let the flavors, the views, and the spirit of the island slow you down and draw you in.
