Description

Grandfather Michael Kosmidis used to run a renowned pastry shop in Istanbul/Constantinople. However, he had to flee to Piraeus after the catastrophe that occurred in Asia Minor in 1922. There he opened a small bakery and continued to produce his delectable pastries and desserts from his homeland. Due to their exceptional quality and flavor, his treats became quickly famous beyond his neighborhood. He specialized in preparing various pastry varieties like Macedonian halva, loukoumi, tulumba, kourabie, and melomakarona, which he sold primarily in the neighborhoods around the Piraeus port.

Evmorfios Kosmidis, Michael’s son, inherited his father’s baking skills and took over the bakery after his father retired. He had learned the art of baking from his father and shared the same love and passion for baking his father’s recipes. Evmorfios expanded the bakery’s business and established his brand all over Greece while maintaining the secrecy of his family’s recipe.

In 2002, Michael’s grandson and Evmorfios’s nephew, along with two other experienced pastry chefs, took over the bakery located in the west suburbs of Athens. They had a clear vision that considered contemporary market needs, which led to the creation of a top-notch bakery, offering a wider variety of products.
