Description

Géraldine and Georges welcome you to their farm all year round with generosity and simplicity. La Maison Vert Amande’s honey production is entirely homemade and artisanal.

Most of our hives are located around the farm “La Maison Vert Amande” in Spathi (kea-Cyclades). We harvest our honey with the utmost care, extracting it by hand and putting it directly into jars (which respect it and preserve its subtle floral fragrances), where it is packaged, here at the La Maison Vert Amande honey house. We don’t do buy-outs or contract work! We are producers from A to Z, which makes all the difference.

We guarantee high-quality honey. The labels on our products are carefully designed. Our honey is neither seeded nor heated; it is gathered locally (Spathi) from wildflowers.

To ensure quality genetics, our swarms are productive and healthy. Working with these insects is fascinating. By respecting the bee and its work, raising consumer awareness of the need to respect the environment, giving customers access to quality honey, and relying on the mutual assistance and coordination of neighboring beekeepers on the island, who also respect their values in their practices (sustainable development, biodiversity…), rather than adding to a competition that weakens an entire profession, we at La Maison Vert Amande are able to make a sustainable living from our profession. At La Maison Vert Amande, our means are simple and effective, because we are passionate and because our goal is to provide high-quality honey, we strive every day to contribute to the development and well-being of our bees.

Help save bees and contribute to colony development by sponsoring hives! Individuals and companies can choose to sponsor a hive or part of it. In return, our buzzing heroes express gratitude by sharing their wild thyme honey from Spathi a Kea site. Each September, sponsors receive honey jars based on their sponsorship. For further details on bee sponsoring, inquire during your visit to learn more. Together, let’s make a difference for our beloved bees!

TOUR AND TASTING

We will be happy to host you so that you can experience from up close the work of the apiarist, where you will witness how a bee-hive works, how the honeycombs are collected, how to extract the honey inside the apiary, how to store and package it. You will also have a tasting session and finally make purchases.
Visitors may also choose to walk around our estate, do some hiking in the mountains of Tzia, and admire the unique views offered by the magnificent trails to which we can direct you.
