Kappa Winery blends tradition, innovation, and experimentation — always with a focus on people and the unique moments shared over a glass of wine or a fine distillate.
Our Story
The journey began in the 1990s when Kyriakos Karagiozidis, a nature lover and craftsman, planted the first vines in Angelochori and began producing wine and spirits on a small scale. Years later, his son Tassos Karagiozidis returned from a career in Germany with Eleni Charalambaki to bring their shared vision to life. In 2021, Kappa Winery was born, combining heritage and modernity into a singular wine experience.
The Winery Today
Set on 10 acres in Angelochori, just 15 km from Naoussa, Kappa Winery is a modern, high-standard estate open to visitors. The facilities include:
Designed to embody every stage of winemaking — from production and vinification to aging, bottling, and maturation — the estate combines craftsmanship with warm hospitality to offer an authentic experience for wine lovers.
Vineyards & Varieties
Our organically cultivated vineyards span 70 acres across Fytia, Giannakochori, Naoussa, and Angelochori, with trusted partners in Goumenissa, Damiano, and Litohoro. Local treasures such as Xinomavro, Agiorgitiko, Assyrtiko, Roditis, and Malagouzia grow alongside internationally renowned varieties including Merlot, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc.
Guided by oenologist Antonis Alifragis, Kappa Estate wines are crafted with minimal intervention and little or no sulphur, resulting in authentic, character-driven expressions. Xinomavro stands as our flagship variety, showcased both as a single varietal and in unique blends that highlight its depth and authenticity.
Our spirit of experimentation has produced exceptional wines beyond Xinomavro, including barrel-fermented Assyrtiko, orange wines, and distinctive single-varietal whites, reds, and rosés — several of which have earned international recognition and remain in permanent production.
