Description
Enotis is a fifth-generation family business rooted in the heart of Corfu — a Greek island renowned for its centuries-old olive oil tradition. The family’s journey began over 80 years ago with the purchase of their first olive mill. Today, they proudly own and operate five state-of-the-art mills, continuing a legacy of craftsmanship and care.
Spanning 30 hectares of fertile Corfiot land, their historic olive groves are home to 4,000 majestic, centuries-old trees of the rare Lianolia Corfu variety. These ancient trees, nurtured by the island’s sun and sea breeze, yield over 20 tons of exceptional extra virgin olive oil each year — a true expression of Corfu’s rich soil, timeless tradition, and the Enotis family’s enduring passion.
Tour and Tasting
The Konstanti family acquired its first officially licensed olive mill over 80 years ago, but their involvement in olive oil production dates back even further — to 1897. In those early years (1897–1910), the family followed traditional methods, using animal-powered machinery driven by horses or donkeys, along with the manual labor of skilled olive millers. As diesel-powered machines began to spread, the demanding physical effort was gradually replaced, and production soared. The new technology allowed for greater quantities of olive oil to be produced in far less time — a turning point in the family’s olive milling history.
Olive Oil Heritage in Corfu
The island of Corfu has a deep-rooted connection to the olive tree — even Homer’s Odyssey references olive groves on the island. This rich history lives on today through families like the Konstantis, who have preserved and evolved the craft across generations.
The Art of Olive Cultivation
Olive cultivation is a year-round commitment — a living process that never truly stops. As soon as one harvest ends, a new cycle of care begins. Every stage, from pruning and soil preparation to nurturing the trees and harvesting the fruit, reflects a deep respect for nature and tradition.
