Olympia Land Estate is a family winery that began producing small quantities of quality wines in early 2000 in Koskina, a small village two kilometers from the heart of ancient Olympia, and 20 km east of Pyrgos, Peloponnese, a place where the owners’ ancestors were cultivating vines 150 years ago.
The company set up a modern winery in 2008. The 14 initial Ha of the family vineyard, crossed by the river Kladeos in the unique and fertile valley of Olympia, were planted with Moschofilero and Roditis varieties and grew up to 40 Ha over the following years by the introduction of Greek varieties such as Assyrtiko, Malagouzia, Agiorgitiko, Augoustiatis, and international such as Chardonnay, Syrah, and Merlot. All these varieties benefit from the valley’s terroir which protects them from extreme weather conditions.
TOUR AND TASTING
The winery tour includes a walk through the vineyards to see the different varieties, get to know their qualities, and talk about our viticultural practices. Then, at the production and standardization facilities, visitors have the opportunity to learn about the winemaking procedures while at the wine cellar they will witness the aging of the wines in oak barrels.
Finally, they will enjoy a tasting session of four wines from the Olympia Land Estate, accompanied by snacks, moustokouloura, and orange juice for young visitors.
Before leaving visitors can make their purchases from the winery’s retail store.
