Giouvetsi

Giouvetsi, a Turkish dish, typically baked in a clay pot, combines meat (often lamb or chicken) with pasta or vegetables in a rich, flavorful sauce.

Giouvetsi or youvetsi is a food of Turkish cuisine. Giouvetsi is traditionally baked in a clay pot, which is known by the same name (hence the name of the food as is also the case with saganaki), in the oven.

It is made from meat (usually lamb, beef, goat, chicken or seafood, such as shrimp) and small pasta (usually kritharaki or hilopites) or with a sauce of various vegetables such as tomatoes, onions, aubergines, peppers, zucchini or squash.
