Thessaloniki a strategic transport hub for fruit and vegetables within Europe
FRESKON, the International Trade Show for Fruits& Vegetables being held for the 5th time this year, is already the focal point of the sector, serving as a meeting place for producers, international retail groups, as well as domestic and international transporters of fresh fruits and vegetables.
FRESKON will transform the International Exhibition Centre of Thessaloniki into the focal point of the fresh fruit and vegetable market of South-Eastern Europe, from 11 to 13 April 2019.
During the event, exhibitors will meet representatives from major international supermarkets chains, commercial businesses, and distribution company-networks.
At the same time, the exhibition will host international exhibitors who are active in the sector and represent the cutting edge in fresh fruits, vegetables, logistics, and packaging machinery and materials.
Hosted Buyers
FRESKON 2019 will be visited by hundreds of hosted buyers from dozens of countries.
At last year’s event over 2,500 meetings were held between representatives of Greek enterprises and producers and international hosted buyers.
International hosted buyers are active throughout the entire sector of sales and distribution of fresh fruits and vegetables around the world.
Group delegations of hosted buyers from neighboring Balkan countries will also join the exhibition, while FRESKON will implement a targeted marketing and promotion programme towards them.
Innovations and side events at FRESKON
FRESKON focuses on innovation and promotes its role as an important link between Greek fresh fruit and vegetable production, and international markets, major retailers, and supra-national distribution networks.
The International Peach Congress stands out at this year’s exhibition, with the participation of distinguished speakers from Greece and abroad.
Furthermore, FreshCon Market will focus on the connection of production with retail sales, mainly aiming at bringing large supermarket chains into direct contact with agricultural sector professionals, creating ideal conditions for direct deals.
Some of the largest supermarket chains in Europe will attend FreshCon Market.
At FreshCon Market each supermarket will have its own stand and fruit and vegetable department buyers from the retail chains will be standing by at them.
Additionally, FRESKON incorporates a group of side events, which will present and analyse specialised issues regarding the primary sector, connecting agricultural production to commerce, standardisation-packaging, extroversion, etc.
