The Tatsis family’s legacy in vineyards and winemaking dates back to ancient times in the region of Ano Vodenos, Eastern Romylia, renowned for its viticulture for centuries. In 1924, forced to become refugees, the family settled in Goumenissa — an area equally well-suited for cultivating vineyards.
Over the years, the Tatsis family acquired 180 acres of vineyards in the regions of Limbaskerit and Gerakona, with nutrient-rich calcareous soils that require no artificial irrigation.
In 1998, the family obtained organic certification; in 2002, they embraced biodynamic methods, further enhancing the quality of their wines. This approach yields 300 to 700 kilograms per acre, reflecting dedication to the environment and exceptional grapes.
At the heart of their winemaking philosophy is purity and authenticity — no oenological additives or enhancers, only the highest-quality grapes nurtured through organic and biodynamic practices.
Since 2007, the family has employed their own state-of-the-art winery, using diverse-sized oak barrels sourced from both French and American oak for aging, allowing a harmonious interaction between wine and wood.
