Description
The Gofas family has been cultivating its own vineyards, passed from generation to generation, but was not producing wines until 1959, when the family decided to produce wine from their privately-owned vineyard in the Κoutsi and Daphne region, with hand-driven equipment at the family home in Nemea.
The premises were relocated to a modern winery at Koutsi next to the mythical Asopos river in 2011.
Since only high-quality grapes can lead to high-quality wine, we only use grapes coming from our own vineyard of about 8 Ha, where we grow the Agiorgitiko, Malagouzia, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Kydοnitsa and Sauvignon Gris grape varieties, and applying total quality control.
Domaine Gofas is a member of the wine producers’ association of the Peloponnese and the winemakers association of the PDO area of Nemea.
Visitors are directed to our winery by following the signs on the local road network, while passing through a majestic landscape.
TOUR AND TASTING
A walk by the mythical river Asopos with ancient plane trees is an awesome encounter with the serenity of nature.
During the tour, the visitors will walk through the winery’s vineyard and will learn about our viticultural techniques. At the winery, they will have the opportunity to see the winemaking premises as well as the bottling facilities, and the wine cellar where our wines age and mature in oak barrels.
Finally, you can have a tasting session and purchase wines from a wide range of choices, including old vintages that are no longer found in the market.
Excellent works of art are on permanent display at the reception area.
