Production of Petimezi, Wisdom of Nature

In the organic vineyards of Nemea, Peloponnese, Wisdom of Nature invites you to participate in the ancient art of making petimezi — the traditional Greek grape must syrup used for thousands of years as a natural sweetener. This two-hour hands-on cooking and farming activity is a rare living link to ancient Greek food culture. “Wisdom of Nature”, located in the region Nemea in the Peloponnese was established in 2005 to exploit our eight-hectare organically farmed vineyards of Greek grape varieties, such as the famous Agiorgitiko and Roditis, without the use of any preservatives and additives to produce high-quality vinegar and petimezi. Our production and bottling unit was funded and completed in 2006 through the “LEADER+” initiative of the European Union, thus enabling us to produce, promote, and distribute our first products to the Greek market and abroad, while today we export to more than 15 countries. All our efforts aim at making high quality organic and healthy products, giving our clients a unique and tasteful experience while the company operates according to the requirements for the quality management system ISO 9001:2008 and ΙSO 22000:2005.
