The Wine Museum Costa Lazaridi is located in Kapandriti, in the North of Attica, half an hour from the centre of Athens, and honours the vine and all its derived products. The Wine Museum displays the symbiotic relationship between people and wine that exists today as it has from ancient times.
The array of exhibits, dating as far back as the 16th century, combined with specially designed audiovisual support materials, offer visitors the opportunity to interactively discover the history of vine cultivation as well as wine distillation and balsamic vinegar production.
Our Wine Museum covers a total area of 1,500 m², with a two-level exhibition space. Book a 60- minute guided tour to explore Greece’s wine wonders and upon completion enjoy a wine-tasting experience in the specially designed tasting room with representative Domaine wines, grape spirits, and balsamic vinegar at various aging stages.
COMPANY
According to mythology, Oenotros was the youngest son of King Lycaon and the first Greek to leave his land to find a colony at the bay of Taranto, in southern Italy, to produce wine.
In a similar venture and setting out from the town of Drama we established our Oenotria Land in Kapandriti to produce wine in the land of Attica, which is steeped in its rich history of wine-making.
The estate includes a small modern winery for the vinification of the grapes of our private vineyard. However, Oenotria Land is a lot more. In our 10,500 square meter complex, we have the Costa Lazaridi Wine Museum, a hall for professional and social events, conference rooms, and of course, underground cellars for the aging of wines. The array of exhibits, dating as far back as the 1600’s, combined with specially designed audiovisual support materials, offer visitors the opportunity to interactively discover the history of vine cultivation as well as wine distillation and balsamic vinegar production.
