Wine Art Estate was founded by civil engineer Yannis Papadopoulos and architect Yannis Kalaitzidis, both successful professionals in their respective fields. The enterprise started in 1993 when Papadopoulos began to pursue his passion with a small family vineyard at Mikrohori, a village in Drama prefecture. There he realized his dream in a modest space and began making wine as a hobby for personal satisfaction. Two years later, in 1995, Kalaitzidis crossed the winery’s threshold as well.
The result was Wine Art Estate and its first series of a red, white, and rosé wines under the Techni Alipias brand, which very quickly assumed a place in the market for new, high-quality Greek wines.
The aim of the estate was to highlight the excellent adaptation of certain cosmopolitan and Greek grape varieties to the ecosystem of the region of Drama and it was achieved.
The first part of the elegant, contemporary winery of the Wine Art Estate was built in 1998, followed in 2007 by its extension to the other side of the road. Work was completed in 2008, resulting in two beautiful building complexes the two towers of which are parallel to each other at the ends of the two complexes and are fine examples of elegant architectural harmony.
TOUR AND TASTING
Wine Art Estate is open to visitors, wine lovers, and all those who want to learn about the magic world of wine. The visit includes a guided tour of the production premises and the aging cellars and finishes up in the new, spacious room where visitors can taste the wines of the estate. On the ground floor of the new building lays an elegant hall that may be used to host corporate presentations and events related to wine.
The feeling that visitors have when leaving the winery is that of an attractive, and, above all, warm and hospitable environment.
