Our ultra-modern winery lies a few kilometers from Myrina, in the Mavrambela region, where with respect to tradition, we apply our scientific knowledge and our long-term experience in the wine sector to produce wines of high quality and exclusively from organically cultivated grapes.
Our aspiration over time is to make our products a worthy ambassador of our island.
Limnos Organic Wines began to operate in 2002 with the aim of producing limited quantities of superior quality wines and distillates from organic grapes.
The company was founded by oenologist Giannis Savoglou, with more than 20 years of experience in making Limnos wine, and Pantelis Tsivolas, who studied business management and has extensive experience in wine marketing. The company’s philosophy is to rely primarily on the captivating Muscat of Alexandria grapes, producing not only dry aromatic wines, but also a series of eclectic sweet wines and other products of limited production.
The winery follows all requirements of sanitation and quality and is certified according to ELOT 1416/2000(HACCP) and ELOT ISO 9001/2000.
The company owners, Savoglou and Tsivolas, aiming primarily at preserving the environment and the health of both producers and consumers, have from the start exclusively used organically grown grapes which do not contain chemical fertilizers, pesticides, hormones, or genetically modified organisms. Our vineyards are supervised by an experienced agricultural engineer and oenologist and are controlled and certified by the Certification and Inspection Organization of Organic Products (D.I.O.).
TOUR DESCRIPTION AND TASTING
The visitor will tour the premises and learn from the harvesting process, to making the wine, aging and bottling it.
Finally, the visitor will have the opportunity to taste and enjoy our wines.
