The Siafarikas dairy and cheese company was founded in 1930. The business started by collecting and processing milk from five small, but well-organized farms in villages on the Pindos mountain range, producing butter and kaseri cheese. The company was relocated in 1975 to a fully-equipped production plant in the prefecture of Grevena, in Macedonia. The collaborating farmers breed their flocks in the valleys of Pindos, and, using the latest technology, produce goat and sheep milk of the finest quality.
TOUR AND TASTING
Visitors will learn about our traditional products, production methods, and history. They will be guided to the milk reception, production and pasteurization premises, where they can also participate in the production process and also witness the cheese coagulation and maturing processes, and the storage areas.
The tour ends with a tasting session.
When booking, visitors should notify us in case they would also like to visit the livestock units at the special space reserved for notes between visitor and producer which you will find on the booking details.
A tasting concludes the visit.
