Milia, located in a mountainous, environmentally sensitive area of western Crete in the prefecture of Chania and at the center of Kissamos province, is an experience worth having.
Milia means a return to the basics, an escape from daily life, a place for relaxation, and doing things for yourself and your close friends and family. Milia provides the basics. Water is provided by springs and solar panels provide electricity. You will also find chestnuts, walnuts, gardens, and animals.
The apartments in Milia were built in the 15th century and were renovated with attention to detail in order to capture the atmosphere of that period. Our cuisine is based on the fresh, high-quality products of our land, as well as Cretan gastronomic culture.
Milia is a place that remains deeply embedded in the memory of its visitors due to its unique and diverse characteristics.

We start out at 9 in the morning from Milia and hike along a demanding, uphill route that leads us to an altitude of 950 meters above sea level.
You will be able to observe a family of scavengers, that is, a family of vultures. You will hear a short introduction about them and take their photographs. Descending to about 600m, we will watch them eat. During the excursion, you will also have the chance to observe other birds.
The participants must be in excellent physical condition and have appropriate equipment for a hike, including binoculars.
*The reservation has to be made at least 48 hours prior to the appointment.
