The story of Lefkaditiki Gi (“Land of Lefkada”) began in 2000 when Dimitris Robotis, after studying oenology and working as the chief oenologist in both small and large Greek wineries, set up a winery in the village of Syvros in the southern part of the island of Lefkada.
“The production process of any product has its charm for anyone who wants to know it up close; especially when this product is wine.”
TOUR AND TASTING
The tour of the winery is an interesting proposal for visitors and wine lovers and a tasty note on their trip.
The tour is enjoyable and enlightening. Its duration varies depending on the time and the interest of the visitors. It starts with a brief review of the traditional way of the winemaking and viticulture of Lefkada and then with a tour of an exhibition with old winemaking tools and agricultural machinery. In the adjacent building, there is a space dedicated to olive oil and its production and a lively olive mill. Then, walking through the winery’s vineyard, we reach the winemaking and bottling premises where know-how and modern mechanical equipment have the first say. There the visitor can get acquainted with the production process, the winemaking, aging, and bottling of wine.
