Description

Ktima Brintziki, or the Green Winery, is located near the village of Lantzoi in the western part of the Peloponnese, close to Pyrgos and Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games and one of the most sacred places of ancient Greece.
Ktima Brintziki was officially characterized as Greece’s first ‘green winery’ in 2012. The characterization derives from its use of photovoltaic systems, the use of geothermal energy and other renewable energy sources. Geothermal techniques cover the cooling and heating needs of the tanks and spaces, while the photovoltaic module covers the power supply needs of the winery, operating on an ecological and environmentally friendly basis, producing organic wines with an energy footprint close to zero.

TOUR AND TASTING

Visitors at Abelon Brintziki Estate, will trace the trail of Enippeas, the ancient river-God who provided water and dew for the valley of nightingales, as well as our vineyards.
While touring our amphitheater, visitors will travel back in time into the history of the art and philosophy of wine and admire Martin McDarren’s photographic collection of rare and unique local grape varieties.
They will then visit the facilities of the first energy self-sufficient green winery of southern Europe, learn the mysteries of geothermal and renewable energy sources as well as the environmental responsibilities we all have towards nature and see our state-of-the-art production facilities and the wine cellar where some of the world’s rarest and most unique wines are aging in barrels. Concluding the visit a wine tasting session will make your visit unforgettable.
