ABELON by Brintziki estate it’s a “Green” Winery (powered solemnly by solar, hydrodynamics and geothermal resources) with absolutely zero carbon footprint. Located near Ancient Olympia; the birthplace of the Olympic Games and one of the most sacred places of ancient Greece (in the western part of the Peloponnese, close to city of Pyrgos).
ABELON by Brintziki Estate was officially characterized as Greece’s first green winery in 2012. The characterization derives from its extended use of renewable energy sources to power all the facilities of the winery and vineyards.
Thus, the winery operates on an ecological and environmentally friendly basis, and furthermore producing natural organic wines, from Greek rare varieties, unique to the world (Ancient Olympia’s Tinaktorogos i.e., is cultivated uniquely in the vineyards of ABELON by Brintziki Estate).
TOUR AND TASTING
Visitors at Abelon Brintziki Estate, will trace the trail of Enippeas, the ancient river-God who provided water and dew for the valley of nightingales, as well as our vineyards. While touring our amphitheater, visitors will travel back in time into the history of the art and philosophy of wine and admire Martin McDarren’s photographic collection of rare and unique local grape varieties. They will then visit the facilities of the first energy self-sufficient green winery of southern Europe, stroll in the vineyard, weather permitting, learn the mysteries of geothermal and renewable energy sources as well as the environmental responsibilities we all have towards nature and see our state-of-the-art production facilities and the wine cellar where some of the world’s rarest and most unique wines are aging in barrels. Concluding the visit, a wine tasting session will make your visit unforgettable.
