Description

Dereskos Winery was founded in 1994. It is based in Floka in the municipality of Gargaliani, near the historic town of Pylos in southwest Peloponnese.
The modern winery is located within the Dereskos’s family multi-variety, 40 Ha vineyards at Agrilia in the traditional viticultural zone of Messinia prefecture.
Domaine Dereskos highlights the unique characteristics of the area’s vines, which are used to produce quality PGI regional wines. At an altitude of 350 m, the hilly terrain complies with the tradition of Greek vineyards by spreading out across the slopes’ inclines.

TOUR AND TASTING

The visitor experience begins with a welcome by Theodore Dereskos, followed by an introduction of the program and a view of the vineyards. We begin with a stroll through the vineyards, where you will learn about the different grape varieties.
The tour continues with a visit to the building housing the production and wine-making facilities, with the oak barrels and stainless-steel equipment for the production and bottling of wine.
Then it is time to take a seat at a 12-person, monastery-style oak table in the special closed space for wine tasting with a window looking out to the vineyards or to gather outside beneath a large tree with a view to the domain’s vineyards.
The wine tasting is accompanied by cold cuts, local treats of olives, fruits, bread, cheese, and music. Theodore Dereskos will personally provide ample information and stories about wine!
*Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase wine at a discount of up to 20 percent.
