Athens is the 2nd European capital with such close proximity to wineries (the other one is Vienna). The region of Attica (the peninsula where Athens is located) has been making wine since 1882.
The most popular wine variety is the ‘Savatiano’, with old vines that date from the early 60s. There are two options available: travel East to the Mesogaia region or travel North of Attica and visit wineries even in the bordering Evia. (this will take slightly longer). You will enjoy fresh, crisp, vibrant wines that will pair nicely with all Greek mezedes and light dishes. Enjoy!
Meet your tour escort/wine specialist and the private car/minivan and start your day tour. Approx. travel time is 40 minutes. We will visit 2-3 wineries and taste more than 10 wines. Lunch included. Return to Athens and transfer to your hotel.
